地道美語向前沖：奧運會抵制種族歧視

北京時間7月25日，原定將參加奧運會的希臘女子三級跳選手帕帕克里斯托(Papachristou)，因在推特上發表種族歧視言論，被希臘奧運代表團除名，因此她將無緣倫敦奧運會。

帕帕克里斯托在自己的推特中說：太多的非洲人在希臘，就連西尼羅河病毒的蚊子也會吃自制食品。她的這一言論在國內引起了軒然大波，就連政治圈也表示應該取消她參加倫敦奧運會的資格。

臘奧委會于昨日發表聲明，帕帕克里斯托因發表種族歧視類文，被逐出希臘奧運代表團。這位希臘田徑的希望之星也因此無緣代表祖國參加倫敦奧運會。

The Olympic Committee decided to ban [Voula Papachristou] from the games after mocking African immigrants in her country. In a tweet (微博) she posted a few days ago, Papachristou said: With so many Africans in Greece. At least the mosquitoes of West Nile will eat homemade food!

BBC says she was actually referring to the West Nile virus and somewhat linking it to Africans living in Greece. But her tweet could be just the tip of the iceberg. Papachristou was rumored to be a supporter of the Golden Dawn party in Greece a party that criticized the countrys stance on immigration.
